When people on Facebook have been looking for suggestions for local tapas places, the name Pintxos Ciudad Quesada is often mentioned. We have driven past here several times, but never stopped off, until today. So as we were in the car and just around the corner, we took the opportunity to give them a try.
Read on as to our thoughts on the visit today.
What We Had At Pintxos Ciudad Quesada
Drinks
I went for a pint of draught beer, this being Estrelle, while Soph opted for Aquarius Lemon.
Food
Mini Baguette Of Chicken & Bacon.
Tasty and enjoyable, and the meat was nicely cooked and not at all dry. The bread was fresh and soft. Came with a little side salad garnish which added colour.

Padron Peppers.
A good-sized portion, nicely cooked with plenty of salt, this was my favourite dish here today. It’s one of my go-to tapas dishes, and I’ll usually order it the first time we visit a new tapas restaurant or bar to use it as a benchmark dish.
Stuffed Red Peppers With Cod.
Not something you often see so wanted to give this a try. For me, it lacked any depth of flavour and sadly it’s not something I’d order again. It was bland and that was a real pity.

Patatas Bravas.
Another decent-sized portion, these were not your uniformly cubed potatoes, these were all different shapes and sizes, which is how they should be. The sauce was quite non-descript, it didn’t have the ‘heat’ I was expecting.

Meat Balls In Tomato.
This is another of our regular tapas dishes when we visit a new place for the first time. Often too, if they are good, we’ll usually order these the next time we go back.
Sadly though today, these lacked taste. The sauce was scolding hot, which is usually an indication that it’s just been blitzed in the microwave, which may have been the case here, especially as the actual meatballs were not that hot.

Bread Basket.
Lovely fresh bread which was soft and warm, a really nice touch.

What We Liked At Pintxos Quesada
Friendly service throughout the visit. The toilets were spotless and there’s a car park at the rear with seating there as well.
What Could Be Improved
They’re not active on their Facebook page and their link to their website has out of date prices on.

What it Cost Today

The overall bill came to 32.15€ for the both of us. These are more like tourist prices and you don’t mind paying a little bit more if the quality is there in the dishes. Sad to say though although we left feeling full, it wasn’t the best tapas experience.
Drinks.
Estrella on draught was 3.20€ for a pint, the can of Aquarius lemon at 2.40€
Tapas.
Mini Baguette Of Chicken & Bacon. 3.50€
Padron Peppers. 4.80€
Stuffed Red Peppers With Cod. 6.50€
Patatas Bravas. 4.95€
Meat Balls In Tomato. 6.80€
Would We Return To Pintxos Tapas Bar Quesada
Sadly not. The dishes are expensive compared to other tapas bars and restaurants we visit and love. Bar Sonai for example they have Albondigas at 3.60€ which are delicious as opposed to here they are 6.80€.
We really do enjoy the excellent tapas at Goliat in La Marina, Bar Sonia in Benijofar, also La Cantina down in Rojales plus for excellent meatballs, magra and chicken, we go to Ginos bar in Quesada.
For us both today, our visit here came nowhere close to any of these establishments.
