We have had Goliat Tapería on our ever growing list of places to visit for months and months but finally got around to visiting today. Several people had told us the tapas here was good, so we decided today was the day to try them out.
If you know La Marina at all, it’s quite easy to find and there’s plenty of on street parking available.
It’s just across the road 50 yards from Dialaprix supermarket.
What We Had At Goliat Tapería
Drinks.
I had a pint of draught beer, while Soph chose an Aquarius Lemon. It was a very hot, summer day, the sign across the road was showing 33c and Aquarius is an ideal option for a soft drink that’s not as fizzy as Coke or Fanta.
Tapas.
We chose 4 dishes, all ordered in my best Spanish, although they do have the menu in English too, I wanted to polish up my Spanish.
Albondigas ( Meatballs )
Nice sized portion, these were tasty in a rich tomato sauce. Served with bread on the side to mop up the sauce, is such a great idea.
Padron Peppers
I really enjoyed these, they were fresh, they were covered in rock salt and they were an ideal accompaniment to the meat dishes.
Spanish Sausages
Full of flavour, these were tasty and very moreish. If you like chorizo, you will like these.
Magra Con Tomate
The pork was very lean, a nice sauce with this and a good portion. As with the meatballs, this had bread served with it too, ideal for cleaning the plate of all the flavoursome sauce.
What We Liked At Goliat Tapería
The service was on point throughout the visit. Both the staff we had interaction with were very polite and friendly, they worked well as a team.
They place orders electronically, so there’s no issue with items not being brought or the bill being wrong.
The staff speak English too, which is ideal.
What Could Be Improved
For want of sounding monotonous while doing these write ups, there was nothing when we visited today that needed improving.
The toilets were clean and tidy, the tables were being cleared quickly, no delay after asking for the bill to having to wait ages for it to arrive.
What It Cost
The final bill came to €22.70 . This was broken down as.
My large beer was €3 and Sophs Aquarius was €1.70.
The tapas were priced as;
Meatballs: €5
Padron Peppers: €3.50
Magra: €5
Sausages: €4.50
Would We Return To Goliat Tapería
This is 100% a YES to this question. We want to try other items on the menu, maybe a bocadillo or a burger. We saw people ordering these and we both said that these dishes all looked fantastic.
