Afternoon Tea At Urban Coast Cafe

Urban Coast Afternoon Tea

HeyDaveHere, December 21, 2024December 21, 2024

We’d booked this Urban Coast Afternoon Tea the other week and it was surprising how quickly the 21st of this month came around. Well when I say ‘ we booked ‘ I actually mean Soph booked it, for us.
So today, it was warm enough to sit out on the terrace, in shirt sleeves, enjoying the afternoon winter sun and being well fed and looked after.

What We Had At Urban Coast Cafe

Afternoon Tea

First of all were the drinks on arrival. I had ordered the mulled wine, while Soph went for the Cava option. I’m not really a lover of mulled wine, but this was very enjoyable. Soph said her cava was nice, not too dry or too crisp.

Savoury

We were then served the savoury selection. This consisted of a plate with Pigs in blankets, these were decent sausages too. Camembert bites, in the shapes of xmas trees. The nuts added texture to these. There was also pate on toast, all of this came with a bowl with a side salad.

For the sandwiches there were the following; Salmon with cream cheese, the salmon was very tasty. baked ham with wholegrain mustard and then we both also had a bread bun with turkey, bacon and cranberry. The turkey was nice and moist, all very enjoyable.

The plates were cleared away and our wonderful server did ask if we wanted to wait a while for the sweet selection or have it brought straight out. We wisely took the wait a while option, I’m so glad we did.

Sweets

The sweets were a lovely fruit scone, which came with a pot of clotted cream and also a pot of jam with each. There was a mince pie each. A slice of soft, sponge with a nice cream filling and a tasty orange covering. We had a rocky road and a chocolate part covered shortbread. The shortbread was very nice. Then there was a small rounded, white chocolate, fondant type chocolate too.

Additional Drinks

I almost resisted and I do mean almost, but once again I was lured into having a milkshake. I went for the marshmallow one today. This was insanely sweet, but hey, you only live once and I enjoyed every last drop. Soph had a cup of black tea, this was a really nice sized cup of tea.

What We Liked

Great service from all the staff. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout the visit, as we have experienced here previously too.. The food was good, there was plenty of it and this was great value for money.

AFTERNOON TEA WITH URBAN COAST

What Could Have Been Improved

Nothing at all. This was a lovely afternoon, great food in a relaxed setting. It’s nice to be in shirtsleeves, sat out doors enjoying food in the sun at any time of the year, but 4 days before Christmas, in Spain makes it just that little bit better. Add to this great service, then there’s not a lot more in life you need.

There were plenty of other customers and all seemed to be really enjoying themselves too.

How Much Was Afternoon Tea

In total our bill came to 38€. The actual afternoon teas were 15.90€ each. My marshmallow milkshake was 4.50€ and Sophs tea was just 1.70€ for the large cuppa that she enjoyed.

Would We Return To The Urban Coast Cafe

Yes we would for sure. We don’t live in Quesada, but it’s a short 20 minutes drive, so it’s easy enough for us to get to. I often check their Facebook page here, to see what they are adding to the menu.

How To Find Urban Coast Cafe In Ciudad Quesada

Head towards Quesada Bowling and you’re more or less there. Their address is Calle Los Arcos 17 , Ciudad Quesada, so it’s the first left as you come up the hill from the roundabout before you get to the arches.
