Tari Bari Bar Restaurante

Lunch At Tari Bari Bar Restaurante In Catral

HeyDaveHere, August 15, 2025August 15, 2025

Today we went to Tari Bari Bar Restaurante in Catral for lunch. We have called in here two or three times, just for a drink in the past, but today we went for lunch. To be honest out intention was a menu del dia, but we were informed this wasn’t an option but the menu was available instead.

I ordered myself a tanque of beer, Soph a Coke Zero and we browsed the menu, while we were doing so, we were brought out a dish of frutos secor to enjoy with the drinks.

What We Had

So, as there was no option for menu del dia we switched our thoughts and dishes.

Drinks

I had a tanque of the beer on tap, Soph had an Aquarius Orange, which was in a can.

Food

I decided to order a couple of small starters and a main course.

Starters

First of all I went with a couple of Tortitas Cameron, which is something we sometimes got as tapas when we lived down in Granada. These were lovely and light, not too oily and were very tasty.

Second starter I asked for was a croqueta con queso each, again these were very nicely presented and were hot and freshly prepared.

Mains

I decided to try one of the rice dishes and from the ones available I chose the Arroz Con Secreto. This was a huge portion, enough for three people I’d say. It was tasty, we didn’t bother with the lemon to add to it. The different meats and vegetables all had taste, the red peppers especially were very enjoyable.

This was a really nice, freshly prepared dish, flavoursome and very filling.

Desserts And Coffee

You must be joking. Even before we had finished our main course, I had said to Soph, I’m ready for a siesta.

What We Liked

A traditional Spanish bar but elevated. The decor inside is nice, it is not a spit and sawdust place, far from it. There are regulars that go in there, it’s clear to see, but this is a nicely decorated, clean and tidy establishment that offers friendly service.
The food was all nicely presented.

What Could Be Improved

There’s not a lot really, maybe clearer communication about the menu del dia, however, as they are closing for a two week holiday in 4 days time, this may be why it was not on offer today.

What It Cost

Our lunch bill at Tari Bari Bar Restaurante today was 38.40€, for the both of us.

The Tortitas Cameron were 3.00€ each. The croquetas were just 1.80€ each Our main course of Arroz Con Secreto was only 12€ each, so 24€ for the serving

For the drink, my tanque was just 3.00€ and Sophs canned soft drink was 1.80€, so the prices were spot on really.

Would We return To Tari Bari Bar Restaurante

This is a big yes and a thumbs up. Good food, good service in a spotlessly clean establishment at a fair price, what more could you wish for?

How To Find Tari Bari Bar Restaurante in Catral

If you live in the area, it’s where the old Casa Anita was located, their address is C. Azorín, 40, 03158 Catral, Alicante, España. You’ll notice that they are on Facebook although not the most active.

It’s basically just past the Policia Local station on the road on your left, then another 100 yards or so, Tari Bari Bar Restaurante is across from the school. Parking is on street, so you may have to drive around a minute or so, to find a place.

Should you wish to ring them, 688 79 52 61 is their advertised number.

Final Thoughts

If you are going for the rice dishes, unless you’re a competetive eater, don’t bother with breakfast or mid morning snacks. I do not have breakfast, I had eaten nothing since 8pm the night before and I was full after eating here.
