A couple of weeks ago, three of us had a Casa Anita Menu Del Dia and it was exceptional value for money. I had friends visiting us and I had said I’d take them to somewhere Spanish for a menu del dia. As we have eaten at Casa Anita many times, it was a fairly obvious choice for us. We had called in to Danielas the day before for a light lunch, and they both said they enjoyed that. But today I wanted them to try out a local menu del dia.

Drinks
All three of us ordered a tanque of draft beer while we perused ( by this I mean decyphered the menu, which was written on the chalkboard, all in Spanish, I must add!
Richard and I had a second beer during our meal and we all rounded the meal off with a Café Bombón for our choice of coffee.

Food
So, thanks to my Spanish lessons and Richard using Google translate we placed our orders. To be honest 90% of the menu I could explain what it was, but good old translation apps came to the rescue.
We had fresh bread which came with sobrasada
Richards starter was artichokes wrapped in ham, while Caroline and I both had asparagus, in scrambled eggs, mushrooms, prawns with a crispbread. The crispbread was so light and delicate, but tasty too.

For our mains it was Richard and I who chose the same, going for the carne a la brassa, while Caroline wanted to try the albondigas con salsa.

Desserts, we all went different routes. Caroline opted for the apple tart, I went for the almond cake and Richard had the chocolate and biscuit Bracito de Gitano ( I think that is what it’s called ), irrespective he really enjoyed it.

We were also offered coffees, so as we’d been discussing earlier the Café Bombón, we asked for those and once again they did not disappoint. In fact I can almost taste these still, as they were sublime.

What It Cost
Exceptional value at a total of €48.00 The beers were €3.00 each and the menu del dia each came in at €14.00. If you want a salad to start, there is a small charge of €1.50 for this, we didn’t have this and we were still full after we had finished.

Would We Return
This is a bit of a silly question, as we like the food, the service and the overall ambiance of this place. Follow them on their Facebook page as they have their menu etc on there. This is one of those ‘safe’ places we have on our list, where we can confidently take family, friends or guests to eat and know they will enjoy it.
