As we were visiting Los Elementos for breakfast, I’d mentioned to Soph that I was going to miss the football early kickoff. A quick search on Google found The Players Bar Torre Pacheco, which shows sports and has plenty of screens, so we decided to go there for a drink and watch the game.
We were able to choose a booth as there were no other customers inside when we arrived. The downside to these types of booths is there is no wiggle room if you need to move or stretch your legs. They had their own small screen TV, which was good to watch the particular match you want to watch, especially if there’s more than one game or sport on at the same time.
What We Had
I ordered a pint of draught Guinness while Soph had her coke as usual. We ordered a second round later on and also asked if they did desserts, as none were mentioned on The Players Bar Torre Pacheco menu or the specials board. The dessert on offer was cheesecake, so we ordered a slice of this.
What We Liked
The young guy serving us was friendly, polite, and on the ball. The cheesecake was very nice, too. Everywhere was fresh and tidy, and both the ladies and gents toilets were spotlessly clean.
What Could Be Improved
I don’t understand establishments that don’t promote desserts if they are offering them. Had we not asked, then we wouldn’t have known, and that’s revenue lost for the business.
This seems very much like a locals bar; it seemed that the 3 other parties inside the bar, sitting alongside the owner, were given a tapas with their drinks. I may be wrong about this, but if that’s not the case, then they all ordered a small portion of the same dish. As we were the only other people in there, if there was tapa being offered, it would have been nice to have been offered this, too. But as I was busy watching the football, I may have missed 3 food orders being placed.
How Much Did It Cost?
For my two pints of Guinness, a couple of cokes for Soph, and as she was driving home, I treated her to a piece of their cheesecake, the bill in total was €20.20
Would We Return To The Players Bar Torre Pacheco
To be honest, we wouldn’t. The price of the Guinness was eye-watering when we got the bill. Considering this past week, I’d had a great pint at Med Bar El Raso, which cost me €4, I was stunned to see it was €11 for a couple of pints, making it €5.50 a pint! Had we been paying for a seafront view of the beach or something, then I could understand a premium, but when I can get three pints for 50c more than having two here, it soon adds up.
