We were in the neighbourhood doing some shopping and decided to call into Daniela Cafeteria Ciudad Quesada with the intention of just having a quick drink.
This is a wonderful little place, easy to find, and we have been several times. We’d often call for a drink and then pop next door to the butchers, who have now moved, as they did the tastiest sausages.
So, back to today’s visit to Daniela Cafeteria Ciudad Quesada, where we opted instead for a drink and a bite to eat. The place was busy, all except a couple of tables across from the car park; the others were all in use. The terrace and inside were busy, too, but the staff were working well as a team, and there was no sign at all of people having to wait for service.
One lovely aspect of this bar is that you get a free tapa with your beer or soft drink. This was something we had become used to down in Andalucia, where all the bars do this, so it’s nice to find a few places up here that carry on the tradition.
We also like the choices of places to sit. There’s the air-conditioned inside area for those hot days, then there are a few tables right outside, and then across the road, there is a selection of tables both in the shade and, for those on holiday, in the sun!
What We Had To Eat
Today, I opted for their Bocata Campero, which is chicken breast grilled on a planche with cheese in a bocadilla. Soph ordered their Chiquito Bocata. This is lomo (pork loin) along with bacon, cheese, lettuce, and mayonnaise and is also served in a bocadilla roll. The photos really don’t do the food justice, but I wanted to get photos of them opened up to show the filling for you.
I went for a bottle of Mahou while Soph had a Coke.
What We Liked
Service was super friendly, as we have found on all our previous visits. The food was excellent, and the free tapas were always welcome. This is some of the finest bread we have had for a long time when eating out. I must ask next time we are there where they get their bread from! There was loads of filling in each of the bocadillas, and the meat was tender and tasty. Vinegar and sauces were provided without needing to ask.
What Could Be Improved
Absolutely nothing! This doesn’t happen very often, but there really was nothing that needed to be improved. Service and quality of food were both excellent.
How Much Did It Cost?
Our bill in total came in as €17.00, which we felt was good value. The bocadillos were large and and filled to overflowing; it really felt as if we’d had a full meal rather than a lunchtime snack.
Would We Return To Daniela Cafeteria Ciudad Quesada
No question that we would. We have been here several times, brought family and friends, and enjoyed each and every visit. It was very clear that this is a regular choice for many of the other customers. Staff greeted them warmly and took the time to have a quick chat before rushing off to provide service.
How To Find Daniela Cafeteria Ciudad Quesada
It’s easy to find Daniela Cafeteria, as it’s visible from the main road, the CV 905. So, heading out towards Torrevieja from Quesada, it is on your left, so take the exit off the roundabout as though you are heading towards Aldi. Double back on yourself at the roundabout where El Faro is, go past the Consum car park, and it’s the last right before the roundabout back on the main road.
