Lunch at Med Bistro Bar

Lunch At The Med Bistro Bar: Wait Till You See My Awesome Dessert!

HeyDaveHere, October 13, 2023October 13, 2023

Well, we said we would be back, and so this time around, we had a late lunch at The Med Bistro Bar on the El Raso urb. We had been out and met up with a friend for a few hours, and on the way back, I’d commented I could do with a cold drink or may have actually said, ‘I could murder a cold pint of Guinness.’

As luck would have it, we were 50 metres from the roundabout leading into the urbanization, and as I was the one driving, I took the executive decision on where to go to for my much-needed pint of Guinness.

We managed to get the table we had been on the last time, and just before I went to order, Soph reminded me I had had nothing at all to eat all day and that maybe we should have a late lunch. This is just what we did, and this is where it gets interesting as to our choices!

What We Had for Lunch at the Med Bistro Bar

A pint of Guinness for myself while the usual Coke for Soph. From the menu, she had decided to go for a burger, so I decided to give the Sheek kebab wrap a try.

My kebab was quite a generous portion; the meat was seasoned, and I enjoyed it from start to finish. Soph’s burger looked good when it was brought out; the toppings were really tasty, but it was a struggle then to really taste the burger; perhaps it lacked some seasoning.

We were offered desserts. Soph said she’d like to try their crumble, so she chose that served with ice cream. Here is where I threw out the curveball. I wasn’t hungry enough to eat a dessert, so instead, I said I would prefer a cocktail and ordered a Mudslide. I think this surprised Soph as much as it did the lady who was serving us and taking the order.

Soph’s crumble was fine, a decent enough portion, and quite tasty. My Mudslide was really nice, refreshing, and cooling on such a hot day.

What We Liked

As with previous visits, the service is on point, friendly, smiling, and quickly attended to. This is a great place to sit outdoors and watch the world go by.

What Could Have Been Improved

Overall, this was a relaxing stop for lunch. The food prices are high compared to other restaurants, so we struggled to see the value, and that would cause us to think twice about coming here for a quick lunch.

How Much Did It Cost for Lunch at The Med Bistro Bar?

The food and drink came to €47.80, which, to be honest, I hadn’t tallied up in my head, and the Yorkshireman in we took a double gulp of breath.

Breaking down the fact I had a pint of Guinness and a €7 cocktail should have prepared me a little better, but hey, ho. As we usually have a menu del dia if we eat out at lunchtime, it’s a case of trying to justify dropping almost €50 on a main course lunch unless it was amazing. Sadly, I think we both agreed it was decent enough but didn’t hit that price point for us.

Would We Come Back For Lunch at The Med Bistro Bar?

Yes, we will no doubt return in the not-too-dim and distant future for a drink. As for the food, we’ll have to wait and see about that. There are far too many places we have yet to explore for a first eating-out experience.

How To Find

Leave Ciudad Quesada as though going to Guardamar on the Av. de Málaga/CV-895, and at the roundabout, turn onto the urbanisation and loop back at the first roundabout you come to, and the bar is on your right.

You can visit the Facebook page for Med Bar El Raso, for more information on their offering.
