A totally random review today of Bar Charly, as this was not planned at all.
We’d popped into Los Montesinos to get some chilli sausages from Essex Butchers and decided to stop off for a drink in the square and chose Restaurante Bar Charly. This venue is situated in the quaint square in the centre of town and on a lovely March day with not a cloud in the sky, this was an ideal spot to sit in the sun and enjoy a cold drink.
As there were people on the adjoining tables having food, we decided to have an early lunch too.
What We Had At Restaurante Bar Charly Los Montesinos
I ordered a large beer while Soph went for the Coke. This came with a small dish of nuts. We both opted for a burger for the food, Soph going for the Veggie Burger with fries and I decided to give the Giant Burger XXL a try.
Let me start by saying there are burgers available in bars and restaurants, but some just don’t quite hit the mark. Then there are damn good burgers where they just absolutely provide everything you need from this iconic dish. This was the latter. The burger was thick, solid meat, and seasoned perfectly. The dressing was tasty, the ingredients were all fresh, and mine was a big burger; it lived up to its description!
Soph enjoyed her veggie burger; again, it was very tasty and fresh, and she said it was one of the best veggie burgers she’d had. The fries that came with both were hot and fresh, the perfect and natural accompaniment to a great burger.
What We Liked
Friendly, prompt, and very efficient service. The food was really good, too, and we both left feeling full.
What Could Be Improved
From our visit today, we found nothing that needed improving. It was an enjoyable visit, and we will definitely return there.
How Much Did It Cost?
The total bill came in at 23.90 €, which we thought was bang on the nose for what we got; it was worth every penny, or cent if you want to be pedantic.
Would We Return To Bar Charly
If we were in the area, this would be on our list of places to visit, whether for a drink in the sun, tapas, or a meal. Once we know the date of the Los Montesinos Tapa Route, we will put that in our diary and come back then, too.
