In an unplanned trip out, we called in at Braseria Saoko in Albatera for a lunch. We were actually going to call in during the evening, but as there is a football game on, we opted for what would hopefully be a quieter environment for lunch.
One thing that made us add Braseria Saoko to our list of places to try is that they usually post their daily menu each morning on Facebook, which is a great way of letting everyone know what’s on offer..
They have 6 tables outside, which is roadside, these were shaded when we arrived, but although it was in the shade, it was hot, so we took a table inside.
The decor is clean, funky and pleasant; it feels bright and airy.
There is also a large kids play area, which thankfully wasn’t in use, so we can’t comment as to how much noise there might be.
What We Had
We both went for the menu del dia.
Drinks.
It was hot outside, so I went for a Galicia beer and was asked if I wanted a tanque, which I opted for. Soph had a granizado, the lemon flavour.
At the end of the meal, we were offered coffee and I went for my go to, the Café Bombón which was very good.
Food.
We had a house tuna salad brought out, this was lovely and fresh. This came with a salt, olive oil and balsamic.
For my starter, I went for the paella with Pork Secreto, which was lovely and tasty, freshly prepared. Soph tried the Pimentos Rellenos De Carne. These were really delicious and were filled with minced meat and served in a rich sauce.
Mains, I went for the braised pork cheeks which came with a few hand cut chips. The meat was very tender and the sauce was made from juices of the meat, which gave it a real depth of flavour.
Soph had the Secreto, nicely seasoned, which came with hand cut chips. Both our dishes had really tender meat, with the portion size being spot on taking into account the other courses.
For dessert, we both went for the cheese cake, which was really good, home made and enjoyed by us both.
What We liked
Great food, prompt service, plus the menu was online earlier in the morning.
I had a tanque of beer with my meal and there was no surcharge for this, so another great thumbs up for this.
What Could Be Improved
There wasn’t anything really negative here. If anything, we weren’t offered bread with the main course, nor the salad or starters. BUT, bread isn’t mentioned on the menu, so it’s unfair to mark this as a negative, and we had more than enough food.
What It Cost
Our bill was 26€ in total, so 2x menu del dias at 13€ each, which was very good value. The quality of the food was great and this is excellent value.
Would We Return To Braseria Saoko
This is a 100% yes, and we’re looking forward to the next visit. They have different dishes on the menu del dia depending on the day of the week, and they also do a different menu on an evening.
If you’re looking for excellent value, good quality ingredients cooked well, and friendly service, then you should give this place a try.
How To Find Braseria Saoko In Albatera.
This is one of those places, once you find it, you’ll know how to get there easily the second time.
We came up past Mercadona on the right, took the right lane down the side of the supermarket. At the end of this road, you do a left, then another left. You’ll see the bar on the left, in the distance, just past the give way sign.

Now they are on Facebook, but this page isn’t updated that often. We found them in a FB group called PASION POR ALBATERA and there is a guy in there who posts their daily menu.
Parking is on the street, but we got a space quickly.
