We were trying to plan our week on Monday morning and Soph said “Hey, let’s go to La Luna Park Almoradi for lunch on Tuesday, it’s a park bar, so will be good” So that is what we did. We had a couple of chores to do out towards that area so this fitted in nicely with our plans.
One thing to note here is they have a QR code menu, so make sure you have a device such as a phone or tablet, with a QR reader. Our original intention was to have a menu del dia here. Anyway, we ordered drinks and I was browsing the menu and I was mesmorised at the starters, so I said to Soph if you want the menu del dia, go for it, but I’m having 3 small plates instead. Soph said, are we sharing as I’ll order something too and we can share. This is what we ended up doing.
What We Had At La Luna Park Almoradi Bar
Drinks
I had a tanque of draught beer, Soph had a Coke Zero. My beer was served in an ice cold glass, it hardly touched the sides. We actually had another round of drinks while eating.
I also went for a Belmonte Coffee to finish off, which was lovely.
Food
I ordered the Croquetas of the day, and asked for 2, just in case Soph wanted to sample this. I was torn between The Salchicas (Spanish Sausages ) With Hot Sauce and the Chorizo From Hell, so thought, screw it I’ll have both. Soph then asked for a portion of Patatas Bravas, which when it arrived I thought the other 12 people in the place were going to be sharing, it was a mountain of a plateful.
The Spanish Sausages With Hot Sauce came with fries, the Chorizo came with toasted bread.
What We Liked At La Luna Park Chill Out
It was a lovely, peaceful location, great service from the staff and the food was excellent. It was around 34c if not hotter, but sitting on the covered terrace there was a nice, gentle breeze.
What Could Be Improved
It would be great if each day for their menu del dia, they printed off say 4 or 5 copies, popped them into the plastic punched pockets to protect the page so people can see the menu. Unless you are fluent or an advanced Spanish speaker, it’s more difficult to understand it, when it’s read out to you.
All the other menu items are on a great QR code based site, where you can see the food, drinks and wine options and select which language you want the menu displayed.
How Much Was Lunch Today
The final bill came to €29.60, but it was well worth it.
The croquetas were €1.90 each, the Salchicas which came with fries €4.50, the Chorizo From Hell with the toasted bread was €4.80 and the Patatas Bravas mountain was only €4.50.
My large beers were €3 each, the canned soft drinks were €2 each as was my Belmonte Coffee at the end of the meal.
Would We Return To La Luna Park In Almoradi
Without any doubt. This is a lovely spot for lunch, the neighbourhood is quiet and all the other people there were Spanish, which is often a good sign.
Next time I might actually move onto viewing the main courses or try the menu del dia.
How To Find La Luna Park Chill Out Almoradi
You’re best using Sat nav to find this location. We came off the AP7 at junction 740, took the first exit down the CV9231 towards Almoradi town, onto Av. Dr. Marañón then at the 3rd set of traffic lights turned right down C. Menéndez Pidal which we drove down to the bottom of the road, followed it round to the left. Keep following the road till you come to the roundabout, then take the first exit right onto Av. San Luis and the park is down on the right.
You actually pass the road that Mamba By San Remo, is on. So if you have visited there, then you’ll know the area.
Their address is: Plaza Bejar, s/n, Almoradí.
They are active on Facebook, so check their page and see some of the dishes they offer.
