So there we were, driving along Lemon Tree road from Guardamar heading towards Quesada, actually on our way to Los Montesinos. I said to Soph, it’s gone noon, let’s call at Restaurante Los Rosales and have either tapas or a tostada. That is what we did!
There were 3 vans and a car in the car park, this is a very popular haunt for workmen. We got a table out on the terrace, nice and shaded thanks to the big sunbrellas, as I sometimes call them. Soph stayed there and sent me in to place our order.
What We Had
I went into the bar to order, the order firmly rooted in my brain, as I walked in. Now you may have noticed I have switched this around a little, as I usually do the drinks first.
Read on, as there’s a reason for this….
Food.
Tostada con tomate for Soph, that was easy to remember. A tostada con tomate, queso y jamon for me.
It’s fair to say we both really enjoyed the tostadas. The bread was fresh, soft and didn’t have the hard crust on the ends that you sometimes get, especially if it’s been over cooked.
Mine had a lot of meat and a generous helping of cheese, too. I can see now why a lot of workers go there for a tostada for breakfast.

Drink.
I ordered Soph her Coke Zero, as it was hot I was going to have a radler. This seems straightforward enough.
Anyway, I ordered Soph her drink, and this is where the ‘wow in the title comes into play. Instead of verbally asking for mine ( ie ” Y un radler tanque” ), for some reason, unbeknownst to me still, I just simply said ” para mi” and pointed to the tap on the bar ( which had a lemon image on the side ), thinking it was radler.
I said ” gracias, estamos en la terraza” ( thanks, we are on the terrace ) turned and started walking out, as he spoke again. Now there were 3 other staff in there at the time, I thought he was speaking to them, so didn’t hear what he said and didn’t look back, although it did sound something like ‘tinto de verano’…
Needless to say, the drinks came out, a Coke Zero and a glass of Tinto de Verano, which I smiled and accepted and drank it.
What We Liked
Genuine, friendly and welcoming service with a smile. Although you’re next to a main road, it’s not too noisy and there’s a lot of seating available.
What Could Be Improved
Based on the visit, nothing except I would have preferred to get the receipt. When he tallied it up on the till, there was a roll of receipts still attached to the printer.
Personally, I wish they would update their Facebook page more often.

What Did It Cost For My Manly Drink And Food
I went in to pay, he put the order through the till, didn’t hand me a receipt but said ” nueve cincuenta “.
So I am left with a guess, once again, of the breakdown of the 9.50€ bill..
Coke Zero, in a 330ml can, I guess at 1.80€
Tinto de Verano I am going to guess at 2.00€
Sophs tostada with tomato may have been 2.00€
My tomato, cheese and ham tostada would therefore be 3.70€.
Please remember these are a guess and their Facebook page isn’t very up to date.
Would We Return To Restaurante Los Rosales
I feel obliged just for a drink, so I can order a tanque of beer, to show them I don’t usually drink tinto.!
Being serious though, we will be going back, either for tapas next time or the menu del dia.
We have been here before, both on the El Raso and Guardamar tapas routes and always enjoyed visiting.
