A little late posting this, it was still in draft mode, sorry for this.
A few days on from the Ruta De La Tapa Los Montesinos 2025 event, we are back in town and today we decided to have a drink and tapas at Bar Charly Los Montesinos. This is a bar we have been to before and one of the first places we visited to have lunch, at the beginning of March last year.

It was a lovely sunny day today ( April 30th ), around 21c but the wind had picked up. We sat in the covered area, so there was no wind and the table we were on was still in the sun, a little too.
We were quickly served and it was the same women who had served us a few days before on the Ruta De Tapa, funnily enough.
What We Had At Restaurante Bar Charly
As tempting as it was to go for a burger again, I really wanted to try them on tapas, so that’s what we decided to do.
Drinks
Soph had a Coke Zero, this was a smaller bottle, the 237ml size. I went for a tanque of beer.
Food
We went for 3 dishes to share, as we knew we had an hour to spare, plus if we wanted to try more, we could order additional items, as we went along.
Magra
This came out first, it was quite lean and arrived with a bread basket. The cause it came in though was quite bland and watery. The portion size was decent enough.

Montaditos
These are on the menu, but sadly there’s no mention as to the different ones, so we asked if the did chicken ( in Spanish, obviously ) and the server said that was fine, so we ordered two of the same.
These are excellent value, plenty of filling and very enjoyable.
Ternera
I wanted to try this as soon as I saw it on the tapas menu. Slow cooked beef is nice and I had high hopes for this. This was the dish brought out last for us, and it was a really good portion. The meat was big pieces, but it was ever so tender too.

There was another bread basket with this, ideal for mopping the sauce. Sadly, the sauce was quite bland and watery, if anything it detracted from the beef. The actual meat was very tender and plenty of it, but it just lacked seasoning. Yes, it really needed salt, but apart from that I enjoyed it.

What We Liked
Super efficient service, decent sized portions too. The soft drink prices have not increased in the past year, which is always nice to see.
What Could Be Improved
I’d prefer the tapas to be more seasoned, as a personal preference.
Get the Facebook page up and running and get the website live. Even if you have the website as a landing page to have the menus visible. They posted the other week about the Ruta Tapas, but that is all for months, where last year they posted quite frequently.
How Much Did It Cost?
The bill was 19.90€ today. Not the cheapest by far, but I guess here you are paying for the location too.
This was broken down as drinks were 6.40€, the Coke Zero was 2.40€ and my tanque was 4.00€.

Tapas; The montaditos were 1.50€ each, the magra was 4.50€ and the Ternera was 6.00€.
Would We Return To Bar Charly Los Montesinos
Yes, we’d come back to Bar Charly Los Montesinos, and this would be either for lunch or just more tapas. I’d like to explore the montaditos selection in more depth, personally.
I’m not sure why the price of beer in this town seems to have gone up so much at some of the more popular bars.
How To Find Bar Charly In Los Montesinos
Bar Charly Los Montesinos is easy to find, it’s at the top of the main square. Their address is Plaza Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, 4, Los Montesinos.
Easiest way is to come into the town along the CV-945, then take the turn for La Marquesa, which is the CV-943 and the square itself is just on the right, and 50 yards down on your left is the town hall.
