Croquettes

Restaurante Dos Hermanos Los Montesinos

HeyDaveHere, July 31, 2024July 29, 2024

Next on our list was Restaurante Dos Hermanos Los Montesinos, which we have called at before during the Los Montesinos tapas trail, earlier this year. I liked the tapas here so much doing that event, I ordered another round, while we still had the table. It was a nice surprise to see there were tables available outside in the shade, so we stopped here for food and drink. So after we had visited Bar La Esquina, we wandered around to here.

I went in to order just drinks to begin with but asked for the tapas menu. The first thing that caught my eye was ‘ Chorizo From Hell’ especially as I love hot, spicy food. I asked for a portion of this and also a portion of croquettas. I then ordered the drinks, a Coke Zero for Soph and a tanque of draught beer for me.

While I was ordering, there was a guy making up a kebab for a customer at the hatch and boy it looked good. The young woman serving me, came to advise me that the Chorizo From Hell had sold out. I asked instead for a kebab the same as was being prepared, for both of us to share.

What We Had

Food.

Croquettas Caseras which were delightful and melt in the mouth goodness. The cheese and ham in the bechamel sauce was tasty. You get 5 Croquettas, which meant I managed to get three of these.

The kebab came out wrapped in foil, in 2 portions. It was a good sized portion, lots of filling but the bread it was served it was sublime. It had been heated on the grill, it was lovely and seared, but had flavour too.

Drinks.

I had a large beer, Soph had a Coke Zero.

How Much Was The Bill

This was an affordable €15.00 for some delicious food.

The drinks were the large beer at €3.00 and the Coke Zero was €2.00.
The Croquettas were €5.00 for a plate of five, and the kebab was also €5.00.

Would We Return To Dos Hermanos Los Montesinos

Definitely, as I need to discover and taste what Hell tastes like. Service is very polite and friendly here. What I liked was the fast several Spanish locals were coming to the counter hatch to order their lunch to take away. Like the old saying goes, eat where the locals eat and you won’t go far wrong. There were 3 or 4 tables in use inside, in the nice cool interior and all the people eating in here were Spaniards, which kind of proves that theory that the locals won’t eat at a place that isn’t meeting their standards.

Did I mention the place was spotless? I popped into the loo to wash my hands after eating and the bathroom was very clean, fresh and tidy.

Another reason to return is they also offer a menu del dia and there was a couple sat near to us who had ordered this and the food that came out looked and smelled really tempting. This means we will also need to come back here to try their menu del dia.

How To Find Restaurante Dos Hermanos

Address: C. San Lucas, 6, 03187 Los Montesinos, Alicante
Phone: 613 60 68 07

They don’t have an official Facebook page for their restaurant that we could see, but this is one that may get updated.

If you are coming on the main road, the CV 945 from the Quesada / AP7 side, then the bar will be down the side street on the right, before you get to the main road down past the Town Hall. There is usually a bit of on street parking down the small back street, or if you’re feeling unto a walk, park at the end of town in the larger car parks and stroll along the short walk.
