Mamba

Mamba By San Remo Almoradi: Brilliant Burgers and More.

HeyDaveHere, July 4, 2024July 4, 2024

We had seen several posts on social media announcing their opening, so we decided to pop across to try Mamba By San Remo down in Almoradi. We had added this to our ever-growing list of places to try, so when they announced a Two For One offer on Thursdays on burgers, this was a no-brainer. Please note that this promotion only runs on Thursdays between 13:00 and 15:30, so you might be advised to reserve a table, as we had done via Facebook messenger.

Vegan or Vegetarian? They also offer a Beyond Meat burger here, which I’m informed is one of the best meat-free options, so that’s something to keep in mind.

What We Had At Mamba

Drinks:

Mamba has a really eye-catching bar area, and as soon as you arrive, you know that you’re somewhere a little bit different. They had Galicia on draught, I knew I had to have one of those and Soph went with a lemon Aquarious, just for a change from a Coke Zero!

Starters:

We both chose a starter and said we’d share.
I chose the Iberian Ham croquettes with smoked paprika mayonnaise. You get four pieces per portion, so we had a couple of these each. These were incredibly light, with a delicate flavour that melted in the mouth. They were very moreish, and I had to remind myself these were the starters, and there was a burger yet to come!

Soph chose the Bao Bun with pulled pork, of which you get two per portion and boy, these are good. The buns are incredibly light and filled to overflowing with delicious pulled pork.

Mains:

Soph decided to try their vegan Beyond Burger option, and it did not disappoint. It came with guacamole, a Beyond Burger, vegan cheese, and tofu, as well as funky hand-cut potato slices seasoned with paprika.

I went for the pulled pork burger which was a standard beef burger, but topped with lovely, tasty pulled pork, bacon and also came with 2 fabulous onion rings in the bun.

Desserts:

Although we were offered the dessert menu, we both politely declined as we were both too full to consider more food. I did however sneak in a coffee, going for a Café Bombón as a treat.

What We Liked At Mamba By San Remo

Excellent service from start to finish. Our server was very friendly and welcoming, and an advantage was that he also spoke some English. There’s also an English version of the menu if you need it. Service was very attentive without being intrusive. The food was another huge positive of our visit: top-quality food and an offering that’s a little different from other burger restaurants.

The toilets were also pretty funky, as you can see below, so don’t forget to go take a look when you visit!

What Could Be Improved

On our visit today, we could not find anything amiss. The place was spotlessly clean, the service prompt, and the food very enjoyable.

How Much Was Our Lunch

The total bill came to 39,70 €

The drinks: My tank of beer was 3.00, Soph’s bottle of Aquarius was 2.50, and my cafe bombon was 1.50.

Starters were 7.90 for the croquetas, and the pulled pork bao dish was 9.90.
Our burgers on the two-for-one deal totalled 14.90, which was amazing value!

Would We Return To Mamba

Yes, we’d totally return to Mamba By San Remo for no other reason than to have a beer and try some more of the wonderfully appealing starters, including the Ox Croquetas. At another table, guests were sharing the Arizona Nachos: chili con carne, sour cream, and pico de gallo, and that looked really good, so I might have to try those next time, too. I must add that the poke bowls sound nice, so it might be a tough call on what to try next.

With desserts such as Red Velvet Cake or Baked Cheese Cake, it might be tempting to save room for a pudding next time. Got children with you? They also offer a children’s menu for 8 euros, including a drink.

This is somewhere offering some different dishes as well as some staples, but what we had today was very well prepared, cooked, and served. When you can see the chef in the kitchen using a piping bag, it makes a big difference to both your expectations and the delivered product!

How To Find Mamba By San Remo In Almoradi

If you have Satnav, it will take you direct to the location.

The address is Calle Ntra. Sra. de Monserrate, 56, Almoradí, and you’ll find plenty of on street parking just on the next street too.

They have a phone number listed as: 865 81 83 09

It’s worth following their very active Facebook page to see the new dishes promotions.
