Today we had lunch at Go Café Express Torrevieja, for a couple of reasons. The first was that we enjoyed our visit on Tuesday, and the second was that, as we were back in town, I wanted to try their meat buffet lunch.
Common sense dictates here: if you are a veggie, this menu isn’t going to appeal to you.
What We Had For Lunch At Go Café Express Torrevieja
Drinks
I had a tanque and finished off my lunch with a Bombon coffee. Soph had just a Coke Zero
Food
We both went for the Go Café Express Torrevieja fixed price lunch. We’d seen it advertised the other day, plus the aroma coming from the kitchen on Tuesday really was mouth watering.

Starters
Bread and Ketchup, Alioli and BBQ sauce, were brought out to the table alongside a house salad and also a plate with fries and croquettas.

The bread was lovely and soft, clearly fresh.

Main Course
This was the works if you enjoy meat. There was also a small amount of vegetables, which had been cooked on the grill also. The meat was all tender, fresh, and seasoned with rock salt. There was a lovely char on everything, without it being overcooked or burnt.
I really enjoyed the morcilla de Burgos, it was spot on. I like black pudding and ate it often in the UK, but out here I do like morcilla, but especially morcilla de Burgos. For Soph she said the chicken was her favourite and this was because it was cooked really nicely. It was moist, tender, and again just had that sear from the grill for extra taste.

Everything on the plate was tasty, and nothing was overcooked. The corn on the cob, Soph really enjoyed too. The great thing here is that the staff come around to ask if you want more. I guess you could ask for the full plate again, but we decided on the chicken, the morcilla, and the steak.

Once again, everything was cooked fresh to order and was very nice.
Desserts
Basically here you have a selection of 6 different desserts. If you don’t know which to choose, don’t worry you can have 1 of each, if you prefer.

Soph and I both went for the advertised ‘cheesecake with blueberries’, as per the image above. To be honest, it wasn’t that great, it wasn’t like a traditional cheesecake should be.
What I will say here as a caveat is, we could have left and selected something different. Besides which, the dessert course for me is the least important; I’ll often have a coffee instead of a dessert. Cheesecake, especially baked cheesecake, though, is an exception as I do like these.
What We Liked
Excellent service throughout. Granted, this is not fillet steak, but it compares to mixed grills I have had out here. What I like too is when you are asked if you want more, you can specify what you want.
Tables and facilities are in good order, staff work to ensure tables are quickly cleared. Toilets were clean when I went in for a wee.
What Could Be Improved
To nitpick, get a better cheesecake recipe, but when you can have each dessert, then it’s not such a huge issue.

Would We Return To Go Café Express Torrevieja
If we were in the area, then this is a place we’d be more than happy to return to. Heck, we were only here for the very first time a couple of days back and we returned so soon, which is rare for us.
We saw that they have a Breakfast Deal At Go Café Express advertised too, which looks to be good value.
