Last day of August, and as we were in the neighbourhood, we decided to pop into Little Leias Bar & Cafeteria in Quesada for a spot of breakfast. A warm, sunny day, 28c.
This is a place we have been to many times; more often than not, we end up eating there, usually for lunch. This says something about the food because there is so much choice in the area, but it’s so good we keep going back.
After seeing their recent Facebook post about their latest offering, the Crumpet Stack, I decided to give this a try. Soph was considering their New York Breakfast (smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, and cream cheese on a toasted bagel) or trying their Full English, but she went for the latter.
There was a choice of tables, some in the shade and some which had sun, so there’s the opportunity to pick what works best for you.
Drink orders were taken first, and then the food menus were quickly provided. Cutlery and napkins arrived before the food, and we waited for perhaps a little over five minutes for food, which was nice and quick and very much appreciated.
I added a portion of black pudding to the crumpet stack, which already had bacon, sausage, and fried egg; it was tasty, with a really nice texture combined with the crumpet. Made a nice change from having it in a standard bread or as a full English.
Soph’s full English was good; did exactly as it said on the tin with sausage, bacon, fried egg, beans, tomato, hash brown, and toast. Nicely presented, freshly prepared, and without any grease on the plate.
There was a check-in once we had the food to make sure everything was okay and then again to see if we’d like anything else. We were advised just to let them know if we needed more sauces.
We arrived just after 10.15 a.m., and the cafe was pretty quiet when we were there, with just two other tables being occupied. However, by the time we’d finished and got some shopping from Consum, they were much busier. So, if you want your pick of tables and a free hot drink, we recommend going for an early morning breakfast.
What We Liked
Service was very friendly, prompt, and attentive.
When the bill came, I found out that my coffee was free, as we had ordered breakfast before 10:30 a.m. I wasn’t aware of this special offer when ordering, so it was a really nice surprise when it was time to pay.
What Could Be Improved
Not a lot, really, based on our visit today. If we are going to be slightly picky, the sausages are a typically cheap and cheerful type used in many of the bars and cafes in the area, but it really wasn’t too much of an issue.
How Much Did It Cost?
The crumpet stack, a café con leche (coffee with milk), the English breakfast, and a can of coke came in at a very affordable €12.00 in total.
Would We Return To Little Leias Quesada?
Of course, we would. As I mentioned above, we’ve been here plenty of times before, and more often than not, we grab a bite to eat.
How To Find Little Leias Quesada
You can find Little Leias across from Consum in Dona Pepa Quesada. There’s limited on-street parking directly outside, but the Consum and retail car park has plenty of spaces, plus there are plenty of other parking spaces on the adjacent streets.
The breakfast menu is served from 9.30 a.m. every morning and from 9 a.m. on Sundays, but they do offer an all-day breakfast too.
