We had breakfast once again last Thursday at the wonderfully traditional Cerveceria El Pantanico Formentera del Segura. if you’re wanting a secluded, quiet, posh restaurant, then keep driving. If you’re happy being the only Brits in an establishment, plus like to people watch, then this is the place for you! Seriously, Cerveceria El Pantanico Formentera del Segura would be right up your street.
What We Had
As we’d come for the BBQ breakfast, we had just that, but also ordered a salad too.
Drinks.
As is my usual when we come here, I had a tanque of draught beer. Soph, yes you guessed it, had a Coke Zero.

Yes, before anyone comments. I had already had a quick slurp, before Soph too the photo, so I can confirm I got a full measure and not 3/4 head as some places seem to serve.
Food.

The salad was very fresh, tasty and we really enjoyed it. For those who know me well, I didn’t touch the cold egg, by the way!

The salad was brought out along side a basket of very fresh and soft bread. Forget some establishments who cut the bread so thin that you can see through it, these were proper, big chunks of bread.

The star of the show though was the straight off the barbeque, fresh and hot BBQ Breakfast. We each had a sausage, a chorizo sausage ( which was fabulous ) a chicken fillet, a piece of pork and a pork chop.
All these were cooked nicely, served straight off the BBQ and were all very nice.
What We Liked At Cerveceria El Pantanico Formentera del Segura
I tell everyone the same thing about this place, it is authentic Spanish and it gets very busy. We were the only none Spanish in here for breakfast and as we were finishing off, there was not a table free.
The staff all work very hard, they’re great and are super efficient.
What Could Be Improved
This is a slight tongue in cheek suggestion, but do this more than on a Thursday. Even just one more morning a week, would be great.
How Much Did It Cost
Breakfast at Cerveceria El Pantanico Formentera del Segura set us back 16€, but I didn’t get a receipt, the girls were frantically keeping on top of orders, so when I asked for the bill at the bar, she replied to me “dieciséis”, and I had a 20€ in my hand. I got 4€ change, and even my O-Level in maths figured out it was 16€.
Based on this, I’m estimating the breakdown in prices to be:
Breakfast 5€ each
Salad to share 2.00€
My large beer 2.50€
Sophs Coke Zero ( large bottle !!! ) 1.50€
Please note, I am basically guessing here, so don’t shoot the messenger, if I’m a few cents out either way!
Would We Return To El Pantanico
Oh yes of course. I love these kind of bars, this is as close to a proper Spanish bar as you’ll find and these are the authentic bars I really like out here. We’ve been here several times for breakfasts and also had a menu del dia here too.
How To Find Cerveceria El Pantanico In Formentera del Segura
Coming down the AP-7 past Catral and then Almoradi, until you come to exit 740, which you take. Now, it’s a bit of a funny one, this – you practically do a U-turn, going back on yourself a tad underneath that big AP7 on the CV91. Stick with that road until the next roundabout pops up, and you’ll want the first exit, that’ll sling you onto the CV-905. Just keep heading along that road, heading straight into Formentera itself. And there you have it, the restaurant will be right there on your right, practically rubbing shoulders with the Sabadell Bank cash machine – handy if you’re a bit short after all that travelling, eh?
They’re quite active on Facebook too, usually put on their menu del dia menues for each day. If you’re wanting authentic Spanish, then a trip for lunch, Thursday breakfast or just a drink and tapas, Cerveceria El Pantanico Formentera del Segura must be on your list!
