We wanted to find another must-go to curry house, so we decided to try a meal at the Victoria Palace Benijofar, and we are so glad we did! We’ve been here just once before, during the Benijofar Tapas Route, but not to have an actual meal.
As this was a Saturday, we weren’t sure if they did a fixed-price lunch menu, but we were pleasantly surprised to be informed that they did. Be warned, it is somewhat limited, but please do not let this put you off, as the food is really good, and the service was on point!
What We Had At Victoria Palace Benijofar
From the fixed lunch option, we had the following.
Drinks
Draught small beer for me while Soph had a Coke. I did have a pint of beer, too, as it was a warm day, sat in the sun, and the glasses were from the freezer, which was a nice touch.

Starters
We had asked for poppadoms and asked for them to be added to the lunch menu. These came with a tray of 4 pickles, and we were told these were on the house.

Onion Bhajis for Soph. These were tasty, cooked really well, and with the perfect crunch. I had Chicken Pakora. It was fine; it would not be my go-to starter at any Indian restaurant, but I wanted to order something different from what Soph was having.

Mains
Soph went for the Chicken Tikka Masala with a garlic naan. She enjoyed this dish; it was tasty, the sauce was good, and had a perfect balance of spices.
My man was a dish I had never tried before; it was a dish called a Hindi. I selected the chicken version and was asked if I wanted it mild, medium, or spicy. Yup, I asked for it spicy. I have to say I loved this dish; it really did not disappoint. The flavours were intense but not overpowering, and there was just the right amount of heat too. This is a dish I would highly recommend and will be ordering again.

Dessert
This lunch menu offers a choice of ice cream or coffee. Soph had the chocolate ice cream while I went for a cafe con leche. These were as expected and a nice way to round off a really good lunch.

What We Liked at Victoria Palace Benijofar
The service was excellent, with just one member of staff serving six tables, including a table of six and a table of 4, and at no time were any customers kept waiting. The quality of the food, especially the main courses, was sublime. My main was a Chicken Hindi, and the taste was amazing, a real depth of flavours with a kick of heat at the end of each mouthful, but I had requested it spicy.
What Could Be Improved
There is nothing that springs to mind at all after the visit today. Maybe one suggestion would be adding prawns to the fixed-price menu with a small supplement if possible.
How Much Did It Cost At Victoria Palace Benijofar
For the drinks and both our lunches, the final bill came in at a very reasonable €24.88.

Would We Return To The Victoria Palace Benijofar
Based on the food and service today, this is a no-brainer and could become our go-to Indian.
