Maritaos Kitchen Rojales: Return Visit!

HeyDaveHere, May 25, 2026May 25, 2026

We returned to Maritaos Kitchen Rojales on Sunday for a lunch. We’d been here the week before with friends and we really enjoyed it. This is an area we don’t often venture to, as it’s not really on the way to anywhere nor do we play golf.

But, what attracted our attention was their Facebook posts. The different menus appealed and seemed really good value for money. As we both love good Asian food, we knew we had to visit here, especially as it’s a 20 minute drive away, so easy to get to.

One other thing I noted on their website was a quote from the founder /chef

Food is my language, and the kitchen is my canvas. Through every dish I create, I aim to transport you to the vibrant streets of China, where flavours intertwine, and stories unfold.

What We Had

There are several different set menu options here, as well as the main menu. This time we went with Menu A

Menu A Maritaos Kitchen Rojales

Drinks

We both started off with a Coke Zero, then when Soph ordered a second, I went for a gin and tonic. I’d had one of these the previous week, thoroughly enjoyed it, and thought, ” Why not? It’s the weekend after all!” My gin came with ice and a slice of lemon and lime.

Food

As we looked over the menu, we had prawn crackers to nibble, and then, as already mentioned, we went for the set menu A.

Starters

The starter on this menu is a sharing platter which consisted of a chicken satay skewer each, which had a really tasty satay sauce, a vegetarian spring roll and spare ribs.

The chicken was moist with the satay sauce having plenty of taste. The spring roll was a good size and plenty of filling, while the meat from the ribs was so tender that it literally fell off the bone. We were off to a good start!

Second Course

Next up was the crispy shredded duck with pancakes. Served in the traditional way with strips of finely sliced cucumber and spring onions (scallions) and there were 3 pancakes each. This came with Hoisin sauce.
A very nice dish, tasty and nicely sized portion.

Main Course

Two mains were presented for the next course, Hong Kong Shredded Chilli Beef and also the house special dish called Baozai which had different proteins ( chicken, beef and prawns ) with rice.

Both these dishes were very tasty and also filling. The prawns were a decent size too, with good taste.

Dessert

This was an easy choice, we both went for the fried banana with ice cream. Hot, freshly prepared and a nice way to finish off a filling lunch.

What We Liked

The food is delicious, the service is prompt and attentive. There are plenty of tables out on the covered terrace and also in the restaurant.
They also do take away food, which seemed popular, judging by the number of collections we saw people picking up.
This restaurant is very good value for money. You really can’t fault the quantity and quality of the food for the price we paid.

What Could Be Improved

I’m struggling to think of anything negative to say; it was so enjoyable.

How Much Did It Cost

Our lunch was 44,25€ in total

Drinks: The Coke Zeros were 2,55€ each and my gin and tonic was 6,50€

The Menu A set price menu was 16,00€ each ( excluding IVA ).

Would We Return To Maritaos Kitchen Rojales La Marquesa

It’s a safe bet to say, we would. It’s a nice location, plenty of parking and that’s before you get to the great food. The portions are filling without being over facing, service is on point.
On our first visit with friends, we had the Chefs Recommended Menu. Options for this are shown here.

How To Find Maritaos Kitchen Rojales

They’re easy to find if you know where La Marquesa centre Dialprix is, as they’re upstairs above the supermarket.

If you’re using Satnav, the address to use is:
Av. del Teide, 0317 Rojales.

You can find them on Google Maps here if that’s easier.

I love the fact they have invested in a great website, this has all the information you need, the menus etc plus an online booking for for either the Rojales restaurant or the one in Villamartin,

Book online here on their website.

Villamartin Address:

C. los Pirineos, 1,

03189 Orihuela, Alicante.
