The Best Texas BBQ Spain Has To Offer?

Well, we think we have found a real hidden gem, about 15km from where we live, that I think offers the very best Texas BBQ Spain has to offer. A bit of a bold statement, you may think, but boy, we were impressed with the Pit Gangsta BBQ we had on Friday.

As well as ordering the BBQ tray, we also ordered some other produce for the freezer. This was one of those times when we fancied something slightly different but not a pizza or curry, and this ticked the boxes.

What We Had

The BBQ tray feeds two people, but you could easily feed three or even four.
You get succulent salt and pepper ribs, which are crazily tender. No sauce was needed over the top, the taste was good enough just as they were. Then there was the cheddar and jalapeno smoked sausage which got ‘ possibly the best sausage I’ve eaten in Spain ‘ in Sophie’s own words. The Carolina pulled pork was a mountain of meat, again very tender and packed full of flavour.
Alongside the meat feast, you get delicious Texas pit beans, pickles with two sauces, and some really nice bread ( ideal for Texas Toast ).

Soph and I loved this, and there’s probably still almost half of the meat left for Saturday’s lunch.

What We Liked

Fantastic flavoursome food. Friendly service from Lee, and this is great value for money, in our opinion. Soph and I have had BBQ in at least 8 different states in the USA over the years, and this sits amongst the better ones we have had.

Nothing needed any additional seasoning; the meat was so tender. I am not usually a rib person; I cannot think the last time I even ordered ribs off any menu, but I really did enjoy these. I had one with our meal on Friday evening, and I finished off three on Sunday for my lunch. They really are finger licking good!

What It Cost For The Best Texas BBQ Spain Has Presented To Us

Well, for the BBQ tray for two it’s 32€, so it works out at 16€ per head. I have to be honest and I first wondered if it would be value for money but it absolutely was, there was so much meat included. The total bill was obviously higher as we also bought other goodies, to take home and freeze.

So, we also got:

One pack of jalapeno and cheese sausages and one of Texas hot link sausages.

A half kilo of the Carolina Pulled Pork and a pack of homemade smoked garlic butter.

Smoked bacon and we went for the Hot Honey variety.

What I will endeavour to do ( IF, I remember) is I’ll update this page for each of these products once we get around to cooking and eating these. Personally, I’m really looking forward to the Texas hot link sausages.

You can order the BBQ tray online along with the Dino big beef ribs.

Would We Return And Order Again?

So far, we’ve only had the platter, which we had Saturday too, and I had the last 3 ribs as part of my Sunday lunch, and we enjoyed everything. So, the answer is yes we will be returning again. All the other meat items from the order are in the freezer, and the garlic butter, sitting temptingly in the fridge.

How To Find Pit Gangsta’s Texas BBQ

Pit Gangsta’s are based in Barbarroja, Spain, 03689 which is a couple of minutes out of Hondon de los Frailes. You can contact them by phone ( 644 312 234 ) or through their Facebook page. Please do note that this is not a shop; you need to order in advance, so make sure you ring them with your order, or order online if it’s just the platter that you’d like.

This was the first time we have ordered from Lee, but it won’t be the last.
