We were down in the Playa Flamenca area, on Friday, near the beach, it was kind of lunch time so we decided to call in to Surfers Bar & Grill, to grab a little something to eat. We have been here previously, but I’m sure it was only for drinks, as it was a couple of years back. We’d considered Fetta Nera but as this was closer, this won today.
Despite it being a coolish day in early March, the streets were busy in terms of parked cars, however we were lucky that there was a place available just around the corner, which we grabbed, much to the frustration of the three cars that were following us.
All the outdoor seating was taken, we were offered seating inside and there are tables with sea views, that you can either wait at with a drink until a terrace table becomes free or simply stay there for your food and/or drinks.
What We Had
I fancied a beer, so a pint of Amstel was in order for me, Soph had the Coke Zero, which came with ice and a slice.

From the menu we both went for the Mumbai Chicken Panini and shared a side of chips. The wonderful flavours of the Mumbai Chicken Panini were nice, the tikka mayo wasn’t over powering. This came with a small side salad, which was well presented and very fresh.

The chips, well these were delightful. They were seasoned nicely and are quite probably the best chips ( excluding chippy chips ) I have had this year, thus far.

What We Liked
Prompt, attentive service, really enjoyable food and a nice atmosphere. Staff were very busy, the terrace was packed as well as a few table inside in use, but service was bang on.
Our food arrived very quickly, it was hot and fresh. Checkback during the meal and service with a smile.
What Could Be Improved
There were no issues that needed addressing. As tempting as it would be to say, more tables outside, I don’t think it is possible.
How Much Did It Cost
Lunch was 27.50€ which was for a drink each, the shared chips and a Mumbai Chicken Panini each. Yes, these are holiday resort prices, as you’re also paying for the sea views, it could be said.

A breakdown of the bill:
Amstel by the pint is 3.95€
Coke Zero, 33cl can 2.80€
Mumbai Chicken Panini is 7.90€ each
Side order of chips at 4.95€
Would We Return To Surfers Bar & Grill
Yes, at some point, even if it was just for a coffee to watch the sunrise or a cocktail one evening to watch the sunset. It’s a place with a laid back atmosphere, ideal for chilling out, enjoying the sun and the sea.
Depending on traffic this is a 30 minute drive for us, so it would be a case of, if we were in the area, type of return visits.
How To Find Surfers Bar & Grill
They are on Facebook and also have a website, which has details and food, drink and cocktail menus etc.
Their address is Carrer Las Orquídeas, local No 4, Alicante, Spain, 03189 and they’re basically on the Playa Flamenca Beach.
