La Taberna De La Cruz

Wow, Check Out La Taberna De La Cruz

HeyDaveHere, June 6, 2025June 6, 2025

We visited La Taberna De La Cruz and we were very impressed. This was our first proper visit to Granja De Rocamora and it’s a place we want to go back and explore again.
I have a list of at least14 different tapas bars that I want to visit, here in Granja De Rocamora, just down the road in Cox and also in Callosa.

While we were sat here, enjoying the warmth of the sun, sitting in the shade with a cold drink, everyone who walked past us said hello to us. This so reminded us of when we lived down in the little village in Granada.

What We Had

I couldn’t see any tapas on view, so I ordered a drink each for us and asked if we could have a tostada, with tomato and cheese. They sell Mahou, so I ordered a tanque and Soph just has her usual, a Coke Zero.
The Coke was a large bottle here!

The tostada was very good, large bread which was soft and fresh. I liked the fact you got a salt sachet plus a small olive oil capsule too.

What We Liked

Lovely little spot, with plenty of shaded outdoor seating. They have a menu on a chalkboard which is visible as you walk to the bar. Another plus point is their Facebook page which has menus etc updated very regularly.
Friendly service with a smile and we got a receipt here, which was great.

What Could Be Improved

To be fair, there was nothing that needed attention or improving. Service was on point, our server understood my Spanish but also replied to me in English.

What Did It Cost At La Taberna De La Cruz

Thanks to the receipt, it’s not a guessing game here.
My tanque was 3.50€, granted not the cheapest, but it was a full glass at least! Sophie’s large bottled Coke was 2€.
They look to do a basic tostada with oil at 1.20€, then add the tomato and the cheese on as an additional items, at 50c each. This brings the tostada to 1.70€.

Would We Return To

This is an emphatic YES to this, next time will be for a lunch. They publish their La Taberna De La Cruz Menu Diario on Social media for the three days per week, so you can see in advance what the dishes are each day.

This is much better value than the cafe bar down at the Orihuela ITV station, near the hospital which we reviewed here after our disappointing visit there.

How To Find La Taberna De La Cruz

This bar is easy to find, they’re address is C. de la Cruz, 14, 03348 Granja de Rocamora, Alicante. Be aware, though, the road is closed on market days!
Although not on the main road, they are on Google Maps, to help you navigate to them.
