Patagonia Steak House Quesada: Go With Empty Stomach!

HeyDaveHere, November 10, 2023November 10, 2023

We visited the Patagonia Steak House on a Saturday evening, and this had been on our list for quite some time. To be honest, it was a toss-up between this location and the one at El Raso, but we eventually decided on the Quesada restaurant. We booked an early table, as this restaurant can get very busy.

What We Had At Patagonia Steak House

As I wasn’t driving, a pint of draught beer was my drink option, while Soph, as ever, had the car keys, so went for the Coke. The Coke was Pepsi and was a bottle/glass. While we waited for our starters, we were provided with some lovely bread and really tasty aioli, a perfect way to start a meal!

Starters

We had 2 of the Empanada (pasties) to share as one of the starters, choosing the ham and cheese and the meat options.

Both these were tasty; they were fresh out of the oven, so nice and hot. The meat one was our favourite, but both were packed with taste.

We also shared a portion of 2 pieces of Grilled Argentinian Chorizo. Again, we both liked this; it was full of flavour and gently spiced to perfection.

Mains

I went for the mixed grill and was very happy with it. A generous-sized plate of meat comprising of steak, chicken, pork, chorizo, black pudding, and also pork ribs.

The chicken and pork were very tender, and the chicken was moist. The chorizo we’d already enjoyed on the starter too, and the black pudding was a good traditional Spanish morcilla. The steak was decent, too, and it was a nice-sized piece of meat. One thing was it would be nice at the point of order to be asked how you like your steak, as I prefer a medium to medium well. Luckily, this was cooked fine, so I have no complaint there.

Soph went for the Big Patagonia Burger. Again, this was a decent-sized offering; the burger was very smooth in texture; as a personal preference, she prefers a rougher consistency, but this was still good and cooked well.

We both had chips, which were ‘proper’ chips, not fries.

Dessert

I was too full to eat anything else. I’d even left food from my mains as I was so full, so I took the easy way out and had an Irish Coffee, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Soph had the hot chocolate pudding with ice cream, which was fine and very similar to the shop-bought ones from Mercadona. Let’s just say that in a blind taste test, it would have been very difficult to tell them apart.

What We Liked

The food was good, with generous portions for our chosen mains. Service was very quick and friendly. It’s great to see a location that has plenty of staff who also work as a team. However, we had ordered dessert options after the mains were cleared, and a different staff member came to ask if we wanted desserts. That said, I would rather be asked twice and have someone double checking rather than be sat waiting for service.

What Could Be Improved

If I’m eating steak on its own or as part of a dish such as Surf & Turf or mixed grill, I’d expect to be asked how I would like it cooked. We were not asked if we wanted any additional sauces, such as mayo or vinegar, but I’m sure they were available if requested.

How Much Did It Cost At The Patagonia Steak House

For the drinks, starters, mains, and dessert, the bill was €54.80.

My pint of draught beer was €3.50; the Coke was €2.90

The starters of pasties (1pc) €3.50 …….(2pcs)…..€5.90 and the Chorizo (1pc) €2.90 ……..(2pcs)… €4.90

Mains, we had the Mixed Grill and Patagonia Burger at €14.90 and €13.90, respectively.

The dessert was €3.90 and the Irish Coffee €4.90.

Would We Return To Patagonia Steak House Quesada

If we wanted a steak or mixed grill, or we had friends across who wanted a meat fix, then this would be on the list of places to consider for sure. There were no negatives that would make us not return. Back in the UK, I’d have a mixed grill if we were eating out, and this one ticked all the boxes.

How To Find The Quesada Patagonia Steak House

If you drive up the main street in Quesada, they are located on the right hand side of the road.

Patagonia Steak House Address is:
Av. de las Naciones, 52, 03170 Cdad. Quesada, Alicante.

Google Maps can take you straight there.
