Lunch In Almoradi At Bar Tambalache

Lunch at Almoradi At Bar Tambalache – Great Value for Money

HeyDaveHere, September 5, 2025September 5, 2025

We called in at Bar Tambalache for lunch today, seeing as we were down in Almoradi and were going to pop in to Mercadona for a few bits of shopping. It’s not all that long ago ( July actually ) we called in for tostadas and really enjoyed the food, the service and the ambience of this place.

Today we decided to try their menu del dia, which they have on a chalkboard next to the door.

What We Had

As I say, we both decided on the menu del dia, for lunch today.

Drinks

I had the small beer with my lunch, this was a bottle of Amstel, while Soph had a Coke Zero, which came with a glass with ice.

Food

The lunch menu includes a drink, bread, two courses plus a dessert or coffee.

Starter

Soph went for the salad, which was tuna. I had the Gazpacho Andaluz. Both these were fine, and enjoyable.

Mains

We both asked for the barbequed meat option, Chicken for me and Soph had the pork chop. As we arrived we could smell the meat being cooked and we sat outside too, so this was a no brainer. nicely cooked, tastefully presented, these dishes came with some potatoes and onions. These were seasoned and tasty, the meat was lovely and tender.

Dessert

Soph had a Spanish type of bread pudding called caltrava, but there were other options available, all read out verbally, including flan, melon and more. I kept mine simple and asked for a Cafe Bombon. The report on the caltrava was very positive with Soph saying it was really good, perfectly sweet without being sickly.

What We Liked

This is a no fuss, no thrills type of place. The staff are hard working but always smiling, the food was good and it has a really nice ambience. It’s a traditional, Spanish eatery that is busy.

A guy on his own got up from his table, walked to the barbeque and I think he was going to try to light a cigarette by holding the end into the flames, but the server soon put a stop to this. She glared at him and told him ” no, it is only for food ” ( obviously in Spanish ), but the body position and look she gave him, gave no doubt at all, she was being 100% serious.

What Could Be Improved

For us, there’s nothing that stood out. There were two staff members serving, one covering the outdoor area, as well as doing the barbeque cooking, the other was handling the people eating inside. The inside was busy, the outside was busy, this is always a good sign.

What Did It Cost

Our bill for both the menu del dias was 24€ in total, which is good value for money in my opinion.

Would We Return To Bar Tambalache In Almoradi

This is a 100% yes, lunch was very good but I really do want to do and sample some of the tapas dishes there. The fact that Bar Tambalache is always busy when we have been, shows they are doing things right.

We tend to find the traditional Spanish restaurants and bars tend to be busy with the Spanish, which is why we enjoy going to these places.

How To Find Bar Tambalache At Almoradi

Put Mercadona Almoradi into your satnav, if you don’t know the area. Once you arrive, you’ll see Bar Tambalache across the main road, next door but one to the Chinese market store. Their address is Avenida Comunidad Europea número 4, Almoradí, 03160.

We hop onto to the AP-7, then take the exit 740 toward Almoradí/Rojales/Guardamar/Daya Nueva. Follow this road, then take the slip road exit on the right, signposted for Algorfa and Almoradi, but that the first main exit off that roundabout. Follow this road, the industrial estate is on your left, at the next roundabout take the second exit onto the industrial estate. You’ll pass the fuel station on the end and then the supermarket is on your right, the Bar Tambalache on your left.
