Why Lemon Tree Is Better Than Zoco In My Opinion
There are many more stalls at Lemon tree, which although this in itself is not always a good thing, it means there are several unique offerings there that are not available at Zoco. There is a guy selling unique and bespoke, hand crafted leather goods, for example.
Prices are not displayed on fruit and vegetables at Zoco, as we found when we visited. Often we have seen buyers hand over the fresh fruit they have selected only to be told an exorbitant price, meaning they refuse to pay and leave it there. It happened to us on a couple of stalls, a kilo of grapes which the seller wanted half as much again for to the price in the supermarket. The women next to us had 3 different items and asked for the amount, she laughed and said no way was she paying that. Put them all down and walked away.
This is why were prefer markets where there are prices visible, so you know just what you are potentially paying.
There tend to me many more different nationalities at Lemon Tree, where as El Zoco tends to be a lot of Brits.
There are a lot more food stalls, ideal for hungry market goers at Lemon Tree, including some bars and restaurants with live entertainment.
As there are several different cap parks and entrances you don’t have such a long trek and there are no hills to walk up from your car.
