Taps Bar Barcelona

Taps Bar Barcelona Is Amazing! A Great Find

HeyDaveHere, March 18, 2024April 1, 2024

We were staying in Barcelona for one night before catching a flight the next day. The hotel had a great restaurant, but we were looking for somewhere a little less formal, and that led us to the Taps Bar Barcelona.

Word of advice, though: book a table if you want to get into this incredibly popular bar. This is a small but extremely popular eating place. It was a cold February evening, and people in coats, hats, and scarves stood outside waiting and hoping for a free table or even a seat at the bar.

What We Had At Taps Tapas Barcelona

Drinks

Tinto Verano and beers were the order of the day!

Food

Soph went for tapa, choosing patas brava, albondigas (meatballs), and bread with alioli. everything tasted amazing, was hot, freshly prepared, and the perfect portion size for three to become a main meal. David went for the Carrilera or pigs cheek. This was ridiculously tender and packed full of taste.

Even though we were already very full, we felt we had to check out the desserts—for research purposes only! We chose the coulant and the cheesecake. Both were very decadent and a perfect way to round off the meal.

What We Liked at Taps Bar Barcelona

Everything, in a single word. The food was excellent, the ambiance was truly authentic Spanish and the service was brilliant.

What Could Be Improved

As tempting as it could be to say the place could be double the size to get more people in, I think it would lose a lot of the charm that is has. So regarding improvements, there is nothing that I’d suggest. As I mentioned above, the fact people were stood outside in the cold, just hoping to get a table, speaks loudly how good this little place is.

How Much Did It Cost At Taps Tapas Bar Barcelona

Our evening meal out at Taps Bar Barcelona came in at 61,05 €. So, not at the cheap end, but it’s worth remembering that this is right in the centre of Barcelona, and the food was so good, it was worth every cent!

Would We Return To Taps Barcelona Bar?

If we were staying in the area, then yes, we absolutely would, and we would book in advance. Waiting outside in the warmer evenings would be more appealing than the cold, dark winter months, but we would book for sure.

How To Find Taps Barcelona

The address is Carrer de la Mare de Déu del Remei, 53, Sants-Montjuïc, 08004 Barcelona and their website, where you can also book a table, is https://tapsbarcelona.com/
