Guinness at the Little Don Carlos

The Little Don Carlos: Great Burger, Pricey Pint.

HeyDaveHere, April 6, 2024April 6, 2024

We had a bite to eat at the Little Don Carlos recently. As we were driving back from Guardamar to Quesada, I felt the urge for a nice cold pint of Guinness. As we turned off the roundabout from the CV815, I saw that my usual stopping-off point was busy, and all the seating looked to be in use. So, we made the call to try out this venue as it’s just around the corner, and we’d been here a couple of times last year before it changed hands.

As it was a little overcast and the wind had a decided chill to it, so we grabbed the last available table inside the bar.

What We Had At The New Little Don Carlos

I ordered a pint of Guinness while Soph went for the soft drink option of a Coke Zero. We both ordered burgers: I went for the Angus, and with a lack of vege or fish options on the burger menu, Soph went for the Carlos Burger. I also had a second pint of Guinness with my burger, be rude not to and just to thoroughly assess the quality 🙂

What We Liked At The Little Don Carlos

There was prompt service, and the food was really nice. Both burgers were generously sized and of good quality, and the chips and coleslaw were really tasty. This is a welcoming, cozy, and friendly pub.

What Could Be Improved

There’s not a lot to say about this as the food and service were all great, but I was a bit shocked when we got the bill and saw the price of the Guinness. The only other comment is that it would be great to have a vege option. While Soph isn’t a vegetarian, she often chooses the veg or fish option.

How Much Did It Cost At Little Don Carlos

All in all, the drinks and food cost 35,50 €. The burgers were 11 € for Sophs, and mine was 13 €. The Drinks were Coke Zero, which was 2,50 €, and Guinness, which was 4,50 € a pint.

Would We Return Here

We said we liked the burgers at The Little Don Carlos, so yes, we’d return if we were eating.

However, we’d not call in just for a drink; as a stone’s throw away, where I usually pop in for the black stuff, they have Guinness at €3.75, which is quite a big difference. The quality at both locations is good on the drinks, so there is really nothing between the two other than the price.

How To Find New Little Don Carlos

If you’re coming down the CV-905 from Catral and Almoradi after leaving the AP-7, you have a couple of options available to you.

The first is the easiest and this is to go straight ahead at the first roundabout, then take the third exit towards Guardamar at the second roundabout, so you’re on the CV-895.

Follow this to the first roundabout, take the second exit onto the urbanisation and it’s your second right to get onto C. Avd. de la Generalitat.

Second option, is come down the CV-905, but take the turn off to the left as though going to Aldi. Head along Av. de Salamanca then turn right down Av. Antonio Quesada. Then turn right onto C. Pdte. de la Generalitat and the bar is on your right.

You can also put their address into your Satnav:

C. Avd. de la Generalitat, 7, 03170 Ciudad. Quesada, Alicante, Ciudad Quesada, Spain

They’re also available to ring to book too, on 684 46 79 33 and they have an active Facebook page.
