The Delicious Gong Menu Never Disappoints

HeyDaveHere, October 3, 2025October 3, 2025

We tried the Eve set Gong menu when we visited on Wednesday evening. My sister had never been here with us before, so we took the 30 minute or so drive down here to show her why this is a must visit restaurant for anyone in the area looking for flavour and taste in their food.

Soph and I have been several times, always loved the food, and are often looking to try out their new dishes or choose something different, just to add some variety.

What We Had

We had browsed the menu in advance, I had actually picked out what I wanted to try this visit. ( For the record this was Bangla Fried Chicken Buttermilk Milk Marinated Chicken, Spiced Seasoning, Sriracha Honey Sauce, Blue Cheese Dip to start. Main and side would have been Salmon Coconut Curry
Oven Baked Salmon, Creamy Coconut Thai Sauce , Fresh Herbs, Beans , Herb Oil, and Cumberland Street 3 in 1 of Fried Rice, Dublin Curry Sauce , French Fries). At least my next choices are sorted in advance!

Soph had spotted the Eve Gong menu, which is a set priced offering and she said she’d like to try that. The downside of this menu is it is for a minimum of two people. So, depending on what my sister wanted, it meant my original choices might have to be shelved for our next visit.

Drinks.

It was a tanque of beer for me, Soph opted just for still water as she was driving and my sister had a glass of rose wine. I will add here that she managed to squeeze a second glass in later on.

Food. – Eve Gong Menu
This is 4 starters, a main, a dessert and a tea or coffee to follow.

Crispy Chicken Caesar Salad Gong Style

Wonderful flavours that really elevated what can sometimes be quite a plain salad.

Salmon Taco, Aji Amarillo, Green Apple

Delicate accents that didn’t overpower each other, yet added to the dish.

F-Bombs, Prawn, Lemongrass, Galangal, Lime, Coconut

With so many twists and hints of spices, this just danced in your mouth. We order these each time we visit, and they never disappoint.

Pork Dumplings, Sichuan Chilli Crisp, Brown Butter

Subtle yet tasty, the chilli sichaun crisp was light and complemented the pork perfectly.

f Bombs

Main course: Beef Cheek Massaman Curry with Peanuts, Coconut Milk

The beef was so tender, it fell apart and the layered subtleties gave the dish its distinction. This was accompanied by perfectly cooked rice

Dessert: Coconut Tart, Oats, Brown Sugar, Coconut Ice Cream

I’m not much of a dessert person, but this was really enjoyable. The coconut tart was rich and sweet, but the coconut ice cream was bursting with taste and this combined well with the tart.

Dessert

Tea or Coffee

We didn’t order these, we were so full plus it was getting late.

The Eve Gong Menu got the thumbs up from all three of us.

What We Liked

Amazing food, as per usual. The flavours just dance around in your mouth, the heat is enough to make your tongue tingle, without being too hot.
Although the place was busy, service was not too slow. Due to the different courses, it was nicely timed, so as to give you time to savour and enjoy your meal.

We also like the booking platform that makes it easy enough to book in advance. Then you get the polite text message the day before as a reminder/confirmation. They’re also very active on Facebook too.

What Could Be Improved.

There wasn’t really any negative issues at all. If I was going to be really picky, as we were a table of three, I had an empty space next to me on my left, so when the young guy serving came to bring the dessert spoons out, he could have stood next to me and placed these on the table, instead he stood to the right of me and had to reach across Sophie to reach where my sister was seated. As I say, nothing important in the scheme of things.

What Did This Eve Gong Menu Meal Cost

The final bill was 102,65€ for this evening at Gong for three people.

Drinks were rose wine at 3,25€ per glass, my large beer was 3,65€ and Sophs water was 2,50€.
The Eve Gong menu was a set price at 30€ each.

Would We Return

As the Gong menu is so extensive, we will be back to try different dishes and quite possibly revisit the F-bombs, yet again. We’re going to try get in before Christmas, if we can get a suitable date and times.

How To Get To Gong

For us, this is a 30 minute or so drive, depending on the traffic and route we take. The easiest way is hop onto the AP7, drive down there, but pay the two tolls in each direction. Sadly, this option adds an instant 20€ almost to the cost of the night out.

Their address is C.C. Flamenca Beach 24, directions via Google are easy to follow.

The N332 is another option, but again it depends on time and traffic. We actually came back this way and at 10.30, it was quiet.

If you have not yet tried the Eve Gong Menu, it is one to consider.
