Not everything about Spain has to be serious! Here are my Dave In Spain Funnies as an easy reference point.
Over the years, some of my biggest Facebook posts haven’t been travel guides or breaking news—they’ve been the light-hearted observations about everyday life that thousands of people recognise instantly.
From comparing life in Spain and the UK, to Spot the Tourist, poking fun at A Place In The Sun, supermarket quirks, expat habits, beach etiquette, parking, restaurant customs, airport arrivals and all those little moments that make us smile, this page brings together some of the funniest and most talked-about Dave In Spain posts.
Whether you’ve lived in Spain for years, are planning a move, or simply enjoy a bit of British humour with a Mediterranean twist, you’ll probably find yourself saying…
“I’ve met someone exactly like that!”
or…
“That’s so true!”
The aim has never been to mock people, but to celebrate the funny side of life, the cultural differences we all notice, and those wonderfully relatable situations that spark thousands of comments.
So grab a coffee (or something a little stronger), have a browse through some of the most popular Dave In Spain funnies, and don’t be surprised if you end up sharing a few with family and friends.
After all…
If we can’t laugh at ourselves once in a while, what’s the point?
Happy reading! 🇪🇸😄

A Final Word On My Dave In Spain Funnies Before Someone Gets Offended…
These posts are meant to be tongue in cheek.
They are observations, exaggerations and little bits of everyday nonsense that many of us recognise from living in Spain, visiting Spain, moving to Spain, watching property programmes about Spain, or simply spending five minutes in a Facebook group about Spain. I also listed some here on the website too.
They are not court evidence.
They are not government policy.
They are not a declaration of war on tourists, expats, estate agents, pensioners, people in sandals, people in socks, people who wear socks with sandals, or couples who want a three-bedroom villa with a pool, sea views and a roof terrace for the price of a garden shed in Rotherham.
The whole point is to have a laugh.
Sometimes the joke will be about the British.
Sometimes it will be about the Spanish.
Sometimes it will be about tourists, drivers, restaurant customers, Facebook commenters, or people who think offering €70,000 on a €105,000 house is “testing the water”.
And sometimes, inconveniently, you may recognise yourself.
That is usually how observational humour works.
It holds up a mirror and lets us all pretend the reflection is someone else.
Nothing here is written with malice. Nobody is being singled out, named or dragged through the village square while the locals throw tomatoes.
It is just humour.
So, should one of these posts cause genuine distress, ruin your afternoon or force you to write a furious 900-word comment beginning with “As a person who…”, it may be worth taking a breath, putting the kettle on and remembering that not every joke requires a public inquiry.
Laugh at it.
Disagree with it.
Scroll past it.
Better still, send it to the mate it reminds you of.
Life is serious enough without needing a support group every time someone makes a joke about black socks and sandals.
It is only Facebook.
Nobody has died.
Probably.
