Bar Restaurante La Redonda

Lunch At Bar Restaurante La Redonda

HeyDaveHere, September 17, 2025September 17, 2025

On our way through Catral towards Callosa, we stopped off at Bar Restaurante La Redonda, initially to have a drink and possibly tapas, but we saw they had the lunch menu written up. As we had never had a lunch there, we took it upon ourselves to give them a try.

What We Had

Drinks.

I had a small beer as part of the meal, Soph had a Coke Zero. My beer was a 33Cl bottle of Mahou, the Coke was a standard 330ml can.

bread

First of all the bread basket and house salad was brought to the table. The bread basket is just that, bread, without any alioli or anything. Salad was a very basic salad, luckily there was an individual pot of olive oil and also balsamic vinegar on the table, to add to the salad.

Starters
I had the huevos rotos with chorizo, which was quite a tasty dish and had a good amount of chorizo.

Soph had the pasta and that was basically it; pasta cooked up with a tiny amount of onion, melon and ham added to it, but no type of dressing or sauce. It’s fair to say, my choice was the better one.

Mains

Soph had the combinado and was asked by the server ( so I thought) , if sausages were ok, to which Soph nodded. Now me thinking as we had experienced at Bar Tambalache the other week, that there was possibly other meat options ( there I had chicken, while Soph had pork ), so I asked for combinado and asked for pollo. Needless to say, we both got served the same dish, a sausage, a chorizo and a morcilla ( black pudding ). Both these came with fries and a nicely cooked and tasty slice of red pepper.

Had the meat been done on the wood fired BBQ, this would have been really nice, but as it was the meat was very greasy which did detract a little.

Dessert

These were given to us verbally, so I went for the tarta de queso, while Soph went for the Spanish bread pudding ( similar to Capirotada or Caltrava).

Soph chose the slightly better option, mine was bland and tasteless, however Sophs wasn’t much better she said.

Coffee, I had a Cafe Bombon to finish which was tasty.

What We Liked

Prompt service, the interior was clean and tidy, the toilets too. The Bar Restaurante La Redonda interior was spotless and one of the staff in between serving customers was cleaning the bottles of spirits on the shelves behind the bar.

What Could Be Improved

To be honest not a lot springs to mind, it’s just not ticked enough boxes with the food that we got today, especially as we have eaten out and had some wonderful menu del dias while out and about recently.

What It Cost

We didn’t get a receipt, but it was 26€ for us both, so 13€ each for the menu del dia.

We Did Not Get A Receipt Given Today

Would We Return to Bar Restaurante La Redonda

To be honest, not for a lunch, but as we have had coffee and tostada or tapas there before a few times, we’d return for that.
Our lunch at Bar Restaurante La Redonda was ok and that was about it. It was fine for the workers looking for a fill your stomach offering, but it didn’t tick enough boxes for us.

How To Find Bar Restaurante La Redonda

It’s directly across from the little supermarket Puri, and situated next to the small park and kids play area.

The address is Barrio Los Dolores, 03360 Callosa de Segura Spain, this is the Google link to help you. Head out from Catral on the CV-913, go past the fuel station Meroil Service Station & Restaurante Nonduermas y Bar, Barrio los Dolores, and it is a 2 minute drive. The bar is on your right.

Their Facebook page is down at the moment too, sadly but it’s difficult to miss this as it’s visible from the main road.
