Fish & Chips At Tuck In Chippy

Great Fish & Chips At Tuck In Chippy

HeyDaveHere, November 23, 2025November 23, 2025

We went back for fish & chips at Tuck In Chippy over at Montebello on Friday. We’d been out and about, as you do, we were at the roundabout coming from Los Montesinos and instead of taking the first exit to the AP-7 I headed towards Montebello.

As a Northerner back in the UK, we used to have fish and chips on a Saturday lunch time when we were kids and finding good Haddock out here has been a challenge at times.

Luckily we have found 3 good fish and chip shops out here where they not only serve Haddock, but also do it very well. The Tuck In chippy is obviously one of these places, as we have been here a few times before.

What We Had Today

It was nippy out and about, so Soph and I both ordered a tea. Soph did have a Coke Zero later on too.

A proper mug of tea

I don’t have breakfast, except if we are out for a breakfast, in which case that is me fed until evening. Today I was feeling very peckish, so I went for the Go Large special menu, obviously with Haddock.

Soph went with the regular Cod from the daily special. She chose garden peas as her side, I went for mushy peas and we had a curry sauce to share.

Sophs Regular Cod.

This was a large piece of fish, very nicely cooked and she had wondered when it was brought to the table, if our wonderf server had misheard and taken the order as two ‘ Go large ‘ options.

My Go Large Haddock

This was a substantial piece of fish, solid steaks of white Haddock. The mushy peas were lovely, not the bright green tinned stuff you sometimes see.

What We Liked

Super friendly service, gorgeous fish and chips. The staff were busy, but they work well as a team and everything was flawless.

What Could Be Improved

There was nothing that needed any improvement. haddock and chips, with a mug of tea, what more do you need to get that taste of home, fish and chips?

How Much Did It Cost For Our Fish & Chips At Tuck In Chippy

The bill total was 28.00€ , which breaks down as.
Mugs of tea are 2€  each and Sophs soft drink was also 2€ .
The regular special menu option is 9.50€  and for an extra 1.50€  you can go large, thus mine was 11€ . The curry sauce we shared was 1.50€  for the serving.

Would We Return For Fish & Chips At Tuck In Chippy

As I said on our previous visits, I really enjoyed them, and if we were in the mood for fish and chips and this was close by, then yes, we’d call here.

The prices have gone up a little bit and before with the special menu, you did get bread and butter included; this is now an additional extra. To be honest, not a biggie, as I was so full after my large Haddock.

How To Get To Tuck In Fish & Chip Shop

Directions from Catral: Take the AP-7 towards Algorfa and exit at junction 745 (the Quesada turn-off). At the first roundabout, head towards Los Montesinos and Zoco Market by taking the first exit. At the next small roundabout, take the first exit to the right. Continue along this road, passing the cement factory.

When you reach the roundabout by the Old Station bar, take the second exit onto Avenida Romero. Head gently uphill and you’ll spot Silverstones on your left. There’s a car park there or on street parking.
We parked in the car park, walked up the hill past Silverstones and Yorkshire Rascal.

Address: Av. Romero, 03176 Montebello, Alicante. You can also find them on Google Maps.

It might be worth booking in advance, we were very lucky to get a table for two of us, as there were a lot of reserved tables.
