Chorizo A La Cidre

La Esquina Los Montesinos

HeyDaveHere, July 30, 2024July 29, 2024

Soph and I decided to have a couple of hours out and about, so we went to La Esquina Los Montesinos in the lovely little square.
This was out first time here, as on previous visits to the town, this place has always been heaving and no table available. We struck lucky on this occasion though and managed to grab a table outdoors with some shade.

I had a tanque of draught Mahou which was ice cold, Soph had a Coke Zero and we sat there chattering away, watching the world go by. As you can imagine for July in Spain, it was another hot day. Fortunately there was a nice gentle breeze too, so we decided to have another round of drinks. I suggested to Soph we should order a couple of their tapas too.

What We Had

Tapas

I ordered the Chorizo A La Cidre and we also had Pan & Alioli.
The bread was fresh, the alioli plentiful. The chorizo was cooked fresh, you could just taste the cidre, which was not over powering. The bread was ideal to mop up the liquor that the chorizo was cooked in. A tasty little dish

Drinks

I had 2 tanques of draught Mahou, which were served in cold glasses and were refreshing. Soph stuck to the Coke Zero for both her drinks.

How Much Was The Bill At La Esquina Los Montesinos

€17:50, was the final bill
Our drinks were the beers at €3.00 each and the Cokes at €2.00 each.
The tapas were €3.00 for bread and alioli, and the chorizo in cidre was €4.50.

Would We Return To Bar-Cafeteria La Esquina

Yes, we would. I know why this place is always so popular, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the service was quick and the woman serving us spoke to all the customers while serving. You were made to feel welcome here.

How To Find Bar-Cafeteria La Esquina

Their address is: Plaza Sagrado Corazón, 1, Los Montesinos, 03187.

The town hall lists their opening hours as:
Lunes 08:00h – 00:00h
Martes 08:00h – 00:00h
Miercoles 08:00h – 00:00h
Jueves 08:00h – 00:00h
Viernes 08:00h – 00:00h
Sábado 08:00h – 00:00h
Domingo 08:00h – 00:00h

Their Facebook page isn’t very active, but they are easy to find as they are in the main square, next door to Bar Charly and just up the road from the town hall.
So coming in on the CV 945, the side streets to the right are what you are looking for, but parking can be limited, especially during the busy times.

An alternative option is to park at the edge of town and take a stroll to the square.
