As we were passing a stone’s throw away, we decided to call in to Restaurante Los Infantes for lunch, as we were in Almoradi. This is another restaurant we drive past on a regular basis and keep saying ” we should try there for lunch one week”.
This was the week that we actually got our arse in gear and did it!
What We Had For Lunch
This is an easy menu; you select 2 dishes and they bring them out one at a time. The drinks order was taken and a small basket of bread was brought out.
Drinks.
I asked for a beer, and this was a bottle of Aguila. Soph decided to have water, sin gas. This was a large 1.5l bottle, of chilled water.
Food.

The two dishes I ordered were arroz and also Magra. Soph went for the Revuelto De La Casa ( AKA scrambled eggs Spanish style with whatever needs eating, I presume) and her second dish was turkey leg.
My rice was fine, I enjoyed it and it had plenty of chicken and rabbit in there, as well as a nice piece of liver. Now, on a table next to ours, the guy there sent his rice dish back twice and on the third attempt, ordered something different. My Spanish isn’t good enough to understand the verbal exchange between him and his server, but it seemed to end amicably.

The magra was also fine, it came with a small handful of chips and a tiny accompaniment of vegetables from the plancha ( think 3 small pieces of pepper). It tasted better than it looked, though!

Soph said her eggs were the better choice of hers. The turkey was a huge chunk of meat, but just needed some veggies with it.

Desserts
Here you have the choice of dessert or coffee. I went for dessert, asking for the almond cake. This tends to be my go to, if there is no cheesecake on offer. Soph asked for tarte manzana, as I said to her, “Are you having the apple tart? “.
This was a bit of a mix up, my almond cake came out, which was ok.

The server brought out Soph an apple on a plate. She asked about “tarte manzana”, while looking at the menu, and I said, “I think it’s just an apple, or a pear or a peach, by the looks”.
Anyway, we all laughed it off and the guy asked if she wanted something else, so she just randomly selected the Nube Con Chocolat.

This was a something and nothing dessert really, and it didn’t have much taste or substance.
What We Liked
Friendly, quick service. The building is huge, and importantly, spotlessly clean. The server noticed we’d eaten the bread and asked if we wanted more bread, a nice touch, especially as my second plate was the Magra.
What Could Be Improved
To be blunt, there’s nothing that needs improving, based on our visit today. Staff were on the ball, no delay after asking for the bill, service with a smile, and a pleasant environment.
What Did It Cost For Lunch At Restaurante Los Infantes
The bill was 28.00€ for both our lunches, so 14€ each.

You don’t get any salad with this menu, and the bread basket is just that, a basket of 4 pieces of bread, so no alioli or tomato or anything. Here, it is a choice of dessert OR coffee and the beer was a 33cl bottle.
Would We Return To Restaurante Los Infantes
This is one of those rare times where there was nothing at all wrong with the service, the food or the location, however, there was nothing really that would make us return in the near future.
The food was ok that I had, but Soph was slightly less impressed with her meal.

Considering we’d paid 26.20€ a few days before at Bar Sonias and this included a second drink for Soph, my beer was a tanque and here you get dessert and coffee, plus the food we both thought was slightly better. This was what we were comparing this lunch to.
Considering too, you have Restaurante las Maromas a stone’s throw away at the petrol station and also Bar Tambalache Almoradi a 60 second drive away, we’d be more inclined to try these next for lunch.
How To Find Restaurante Los Infantes Almoradi
An easy way is to put their address into the Satnav: Calle Dinamarca, Almoradí.
Otherwise, it’s more or less the same as directions to Bar Tambalache.
Follow AP-7 to CV-91. Then from the AP-7, take exit 740 toward Almoradí/Rojales/Guardamar/Daya Nueva. So coming from Alicante direction, it’s the second main exit off the roundabout, continue on CV-91. Drive to Av. Comunidad Europea in Almoradí. ( If your satnav picks up the tiny dirt tracks, you will be told to “A”at the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto CV-91”, but you’ll see the main road straight ahead of you.
They do have a Facebook page here and also a website too, with plenty of information on there about Restaurante Los Infantes.
Give it a try, don’t let our opinion disuade you from going, there was nothing bad about this restaurant.
